Playa Blanca is the newest and third largest tourist area on the island. Awarded on various occasions for its beauty, this peaceful and pleasant spot is the ideal place for the whole family to relax in.

The coastline around Playa Blanca is essentially one large 9 kilometer wide bay which is then broken up into three smaller bays. This means that the beaches in and around Playa Blanca are sheltered and ideal for swimming and sunbathing.

Among the beaches, Playa Dorada and Flamingo stand out for their white sand and proximity to everything you need on holiday, however, without doubt, the beaches of Papagayo are breathtaking. With its fine white sandy coves, it is a special place.

You will find a great choice of fantastic restaurants, bars and a wide range of shops along the shopping street of Calle Limones and at Marina Rubicon. Marina Rubicon has markets twice a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays (both in the morning). The goods sold range from handcrafted gifts to local wines.

Calle Limones offers great shopping and restaurants right on the sea front.

A few minutes from Playa Blanca, you can find some of the most renowned sites on the island. Timanfaya National Park, La Geria, Janubio salt flats, El Golfo (the green lagoon), Los Hervideros or the charming village of Yaiza. You can also visit the village of Las Brenas, where you can enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of Playa Blanca with Fuerteventura Island in the distance.

From Playa Blanca you can ferry across to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura which takes 25 to 35 minutes, depending on which service you choose. There are three ferry lines to choose from in which to make the journey. When in Fuerteventura why not take in the enormous beaches at Corralejo with their white sand dunes and crystalline waters, it certainly makes the trip worth the effort.

Playa Blanca really has something to offer everyone.
